PLAINTIFF — OPENING STATEMENT

When me and the ex broke up, it was a nasty breakup, and he wanted to prove a point by leaving when I wasn't at the apartment and ended up taking a whole bunch of things as they didn't belong to him including our two pet cats that we had together and now two years later, I find out that they died in his hands because he couldn't even afford to get them vet treatment when they were sick and on top of that they had kittens together, which also passed away. I'm absolutely furious

Jury deliberation

  • JUROR #2 · 20H AGO

Petty.Vindictive. Definitely guilty. HOWEVER! Plaintiff, there are so many cats in shelters getting euthanized every day. Spay/Neuter your new pet.

  • JUROR #5 · 19H AGO

Taking someone's pets out of spite and then letting them die from neglect is the kind of thing that should follow a person forever.

  • JUROR #16 · 17H AGO

This is unforgivable. What a sorry excuse for a man. I am so sorry.

  • JUROR #18 · 16H AGO

You deserve more than a new kitten, he needs to feel the suffering those poor cats felt.

  • JUROR #24 · 15H AGO

Hell no. Fuck that guy. No. Just absolutely fucking no. That’s so many kinds of abuse all wrapped up in pathetic. He should have charges filed against him for animal abuse, harassment, theft, emotional distress, and blackmail. Fuck that guy.

  • JUROR #26 · 13H AGO

Look, taking the cats was petty (fine, antagonistic) but the real violation, the actual crime against decency, was letting them deteriorate medically because of his own negligence, which compounds the theft into something almost unforgivable (he didn't just steal them, he stole their survival chances) and two years of not knowing is its own special torture so yeah plaintiff all the way here.
