My Special List
I have a list of folks I know…
all written in a book,
And every now and then..
I go and take a look.
That is when I realize
these names… they are a part,
not of the book they’re written in…
but taken from the heart.
For each Name stands for someone…
who has crossed my path sometime,
and in that meeting they have become…
the reason and the rhyme.
Although it sounds fantastic…
for me to make this claim,
I really am composed…
of each remembered name.
Although you’re not aware…
of any special link,
just knowing you, has shaped my life…
more than you could think.
So please don’t think my greeting…
as just a mere routine,
your name was not…
forgotten in between.
For when I send a greeting…
that is addressed to you,
it is because you’re on the list…
of folks I’m indebted to.
So whether I have known you…
for many days or few,
in some ways you have a part…
in shaping things I do.
I am but a total…
of many folks I’ve met,
you are a friend I would prefer…
never to forget.
Thank you for being my friend!

The Crosswalk
Whatever your cross, whatever your pain,
there will always be sunshine, after the rain….
Perhaps you may stumble, perhaps even fall;
But God’s always ready, to answer your call….
He knows every heartache, sees every tear,
a word from His lips, can calm every fear…
Your sorrows may linger, throughout the night,
But suddenly vanish, by dawn’s early light…
The Savior is waiting, somewhere above,
to give you His grace, and send you His love.

I wish you enough
I wish you enough love, strength, faith, wisdom, and song to give you the sweet joy of inner peace to calm your soul when you are troubled; I wish you enough simple beauty when life becomes complicated, enough inner silence when your life and all around you seems chaotic, enough hope when things look empty or bleak, enough love to fill the empty when you are lonely, enough joy to lift your spirit when you are down; I wish you enough sun to keep you healthy and warm, enough rain to appreciate the sun more, enough happiness to keep your spirit alive and bright; I wish you enough pain so the smallest joys in life appear much larger, enough gain to satisfy your needs and wants, enough loss to appreciate all that you have, and I wish you enough “Hellos” to get you through our final “Good-bye”. tobias

To Love:

Be patient and compassonate with each other, Care for each other, Share all with each other, Love each other. Submit to each other, Serve and be kind to each other, Bear with and Forgive each other, Encourage and Stimulate each other, Be hospitable to each other, Comfort each other. Love each other. Judge not each other. Slander not each other, Be not jealous with each other. Grumble not against each other. Be not irritable, resentful, boastful, arrogant or rude to each other, Prefer and Love each other. Minister and share spiritual gifts with each other, Be clothed in humility with each other, Confess your sins to each other, Pray for each other, Fellowship with each other, Carry each others burdens, Love each other eternally.

Go placidly amid the noise & haste & remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations of the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself at all times. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; You have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, do not doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations in this noisy confusion of life, keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy with yourself and with others.

Seeds of Life
What in this life do you
want? Do you know?
Do you believe you reap
exactly what you sow?
Seeds of life are planted
by everyone you see
They are even fertilized
by you and by me
In the things that we say
and the things that we do
Some ones always listening
and watching me and you
The seeds we plant
can be good or bad
And this will determine
if we’re happy or sad
What in this life do you
want? Do you know?

Looking Within
There comes a time when we have to stand back,
and take a long, hard look.
We’ll see all the things we’ve done in our life,
where we’ve been and where we are.
The answers are deep inside ourselves,
so we have to look within.
Look, not with our eyes, but with our heart
for that’s the only door.
We may see things that we don’t like,
but we must examine them all.
Not to place blame or fault,
but to find peace.
True peace comes from within,
and is, sometimes hard to find.
If we look deep enough,
it will show itself.
Looking within may cause much pain,
but once that passes we’ll find the joy.
The joy that we thought was gone forever,
but is still there waiting to be found.
